Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Clubs agreed fee!

Stumbling block could be he's asking for 125k a week!, can we afford to pay that?

Might be bollox but this guy deserves his own thread anyway.

Our stumbling block would be us offering £5m.

They are free to sell Ross Barclay now.

Swansea have come out saying this is rubbish...they don't want to and don't need to sell.

no grandstanding from the chairmen or his son on twitter, just quietly go about making the team better.
would be a great signing from them, but i read that Spurs are interested too.

maybe that means Barkley is on his way out then?

At this moment in time, not sure why he would choose us over Everton, even if we did stump up that kind of dough.

I'd take Sigurdsson or Barkley to be honest

Smart move this.

They're potentially getting in Barkley's replacement, and at the same time taking away one of the bargaining chips Spurs would have likely used to drive the price of Barkley down.

125K is a lot of money!

Who are our top 5 earners currently? and how much they on?

Who remembers the leaked wage doc for the players?

Swansea saying he isn't for sale but as with Payet we know it's the player who decides.
With the money around now smaller clubs can resist bids but if he fancies moving then you imagine it will happen in the end.
Would be a great move for Everton to end up with him and probably make a profit if they shift the Nigerian Barkley.
Of course Schneiderlin & Sigurdssen are the sort of NEXT LEVEL players we should be getting

So what about an attacking midfield of 3, Sigurdsson, lanzini and Antonio?

Is that the next level? Barkley wouldn't even get a look in there

Bilic says he wants pace, this bloke isn't exactly pacy, so maybe he's not on our radar

Good player though

With Obiang & Schneiderlin (who we should have gone for) that's Champions league * turns sausage on bbq*

With apologies to Ducksberet & Zola

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
he should be EXACTLY the type of player to go for. set piece expert, scores goals, can play up top if needs be, through middle, out wide.

but no. we'll whack in a £1m bid, report we tried, then sign neil redfearn

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
good player, payet was earning around 125k all in, but gylfi is nowhere near as good. it's obviously not my money but i don't think he has the talent to command that wage. but when teams are fighting each other for players the price, in terms of fee and wages, continues to go up.

These clowns in charge always threaten to do early business the reality here though is they will leave it late and pick up the dregs...thats their business model

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Im sure Siggy came out last week stating how happy he was at Swansea at the moment

But i can see the attraction of Everton, good manager, owners are investing to take the club forward, good players, good youngsters coming through and a great fanbase

They are everything we should be looking to be, I reckon if i was a player at the moment i'd choose Everton over us

We'll have to look elsewhere to fill CAM

we tied up plenty of deals last summer and the summer before quite early, didn't we boots?

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton for 25 Million
Personally I don't see why Feghouli, or Ayew shouldn't be given a good run in 'the hole' and we should be looking for a top striker who will get goals and bring in them, Antonio and Lanzini into play. Sigdursson would no doubt improve our team, but is he any better than Lanzini? And if not them surely Lanzini should be looking at the same wage then?
